A new feature has been added to Gmail! Now you can check and manage your Meetings from your Gmail account. I have right-side chat enabled, so mine appears on the right-top corner of my screen. If you don't have right-side chat enabled, it will be on the left-hand side of your screen beneath your labels. This makes managing your Meetings even easier. Nice!
You now have a Confidential mode in your Gmail account. On your toolbar it appears as a small padlock. It allows you to set and expiration date for an email and you can require a passcode to unlock it. Pretty cool! There is also a way to control your signature with the email interface. The pen on the toolbar allows you to turn your signature on or off for an email. But there is more! In the upper right-hand side of your email, you also have buttons to create or join a Meet within your email account. And finally, when you are in an email, there is a button to create a task directly from the email. Super cool new features. Thanks Google!
One of the great things about Gmail is also one of its worst features if you don't know about it. Gmail has predictability through Artificial Intelligence. This is just a fancy way of saying that over time, your gmail account begins to learn about your email trends. If you receive loads of email from a person and you rarely open those emails, Gmail starts to think that those emails are spam and puts them in the spam folder automatically. Within our domain, Claudia sends a lot of important emails to everyone, so her account is already flagged as "troublesome." Claudia is simply doing her job and Gmail is simply doing its job, but if you haven't read some of Claudia's emails -- they could be going to your spam folder. This video will show you how to avoid that problem by creating an email filter.
Sometimes you simply want to know if someone has read the email you sent or not. Gmail has this feature and it is called Request Read Receipt. It was formerly in the labs section, but now has become part of the standard Gmail. You can find it in your compose window in the more options drop down menu.
